The voice of Connecticut’s youth is missing from the decision making process regarding their care and the transformation of the network of care. The Youth Engagement workgroup vision is to increase mental health awareness by partnering with youth and young adults with the goal of integrating youth voice into the statewide Children’s Behavioral Health System.
Connecticut families are not full partners in the decision making process regarding their family’s care or the transformation of the network of care. Connecting Children and Families to Care envisions that every family in Connecticut lives in a community that supports all children and families to live safe, healthy, and fulfilled lives without barriers due to race, culture, language, health and socioeconomic status.
The goal of the Youth Engagement workgroup is to engage and connect with youth groups through-out the state in order to expose youth and young adults to the behavioral health system with the goal of linking local and regional youth groups to each other.
The Family Engagement workgroup advocates and empowers families to lead the transformation of the children’s mental health system.
